About Emily Magee, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Austin, TX who loves what I do! I feel honored to get to know each one of you or your loved ones and am passionate about this work. I believe in the therapeutic process and see our space as collaborative and uniquely yours,

My background: I received my bachelors degree from Baylor University in 2015 and gained experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and severe mental illness before pursuing my masters degree in 2018. In 2020, I graduated with honors and my masters in social work from University of Arkansas where I focused my graduate studies on childhood maltreatment, trauma work, adoption and foster care services, and art as therapy. I’ve had the privilege of working in various settings such as foster care, hospice care, inpatient care, intensive outpatient care, art therapy groups, international school systems providing case management, and specialty group practice focusing on OCD and anxiety disorders. I have training in art therapy, play therapy, ERP (exposure and response prevention therapy), ACT, trauma-focused CBT, and CAMS (collaborative assessment and management of suicidality).

When I am not working I enjoy gardening, hanging out with my angelic dog, biking, hiking, making pottery, traveling, and most of all spending time with my partner, friends, and family!

As an LCSW, I am regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and my license number is 104244.
